Following King Sihanouk's dramatic announcement to resign, Prince Sihamoni, a ballet teacher living in Paris, was crowned King Sihamoni in October 2004. The coronation inside the Royal Palace was witnessed by the entire Cambodian establishment and a host of foreign dignitaries, while outside the palace gates it was just another hard, grinding day for the people of Cambodia.
